The firm is pleased to announce that London-based ACQ Magazine, a premier global Mergers & Acquisitions magazine, has released details of its ACQ Law Awards 2012 winners and in so doing named DELANEY PARTNERS “Bahamas – Insolvency Law Firm of the Year“.
The ACQ Law Awards, which recognize outstanding legal firms and professionals worldwide, are divided into practice areas. Describing the quality of this year’s entries as “astonishingly high”, ACQ Editor in Chief stated that “all category winners are in effect, a brand. In one sense, perhaps the most important sense, a brand is a promise. You know what you’re going to get with a well-branded product or service.”
The magazine polled its readers as to the firms and individuals that had the greatest impact on the industry in 2012 and the decision was made by ACQ’s expert panel.
The insolvency practice at DELANEY PARTNERS is led by John K F Delaney QC, a recognized leading expert in The Bahamas in the field of complex company liquidations and receiverships. A few months earlier the UK-based Corporate INTL Magazine named John the “Insolvency Lawyer of The Year in The Bahamas” for its Global Awards 2012.
Formerly Attorney-General of The Bahamas, John led important commercial law reforms during 2011 which included a new corporate liquidation regime for The Bahamas. The new regime came into force on 30 April 2012 and significantly enhances Bahamian companies both for use in local business and in The Bahamas’ international financial services sector.
During 2012 DELANEY PARTNER’s insolvency practice was engaged in a number of complex cross-border insolvencies and receiverships.
