Partner Appointed Member of Investment Funds Act Technical Team

Samantha Knowles-Pratt, Partner of the firm, was one of three practicing attorneys appointed to the newly created Investment Funds Act Technical Team (IFATT) assembled by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the “Commission”) to assist with modernizing the current investment funds law in The Bahamas. The IFATT is comprised of persons from the Commission and private sector individuals selected by the Commission from the legal and financial services community.

The objective of the IFATT is to review the current funds legislation and regulatory regime with a view to producing legislation that will enhance and encourage new business and further facilitate existing business while ensuring that The Bahamas remains compliant with international standards and obligations.

Samantha was also a part of the task force for the drafting of the current Investment Funds Act and Regulations, inclusive of the SMART Fund Rules.
